Hi, friend. I'm Kelly.
I'm a born and raised Upstate NYer turned Southern [not so] Belle living in suburbia outside of Nashville, TN. I'm a Mom of two - we have a son named Jack and a daughter named Elizabeth (we call her Libby). I'm married to my best friend in all the land, Marty. We've been married since 2012 and our therapists call us a Unicorn couple... I promise we'll talk much more about that.
I'm an Executive in the financial services industry, having focused my entire career around compliance and risk management. [I saw that yawn]
I'm a life-long learner, a doer, a big-time planner and lover of to-do lists. I love all things money - making money, saving money, finding cool ways to budget my money, and of course...spending money. I thrive in chaos and am pretty damn good at running a company and a household, ha.
I'm a candy addict - sour gummies are my favorite. I'm also very obsessed with cotton candy - I've been known to buy it in bulk at Sam's Club. No shame in my game! I LOVE lays original potato chips, popcorn (I have a perfect popcorn combo I'll share later on), and soft pretzels.
I've been a corporate ladder climber my entire life, and have known I'd be an Executive since I was old enough to understand leadership... so maybe like 5th grade? I've always been obsessed with doing better, being better, growing, changing, and looking ahead at what's next.
That mentality has served me well for the better part of 34 years! I made it. Little Kelly would be so proud.
What I wasn't expecting though, was to reach my goal and feel like something was missing. I never imagined I'd reach that Executive leadership position and feel unfulfilled. For a while now I've been feeling a pull towards doing something bigger. Not bigger in terms of career, but bigger in terms of feeding my soul. Naturally I turned to research to help me figure it out. I spent months learning about passive income and cool ways to make money, I took a course in affiliate marketing that I loved, I read dozens of blogs and listened to hundreds of podcasts, and then it clicked...
I wanted to do THIS.
I want to blog.
I want to help other women shatter glass ceilings.
I want to help families and couples work through their shit so they can see how unbelievably amazing their relationship can be on the other side.
I want to help Moms & Dads navigate parenting and create a support system that we all so desperately need.
I want to figure out cool ways to make money & share them with other women, Moms, Dad, etc. so we can actually retire early, and spend more time with our kids or families.
I want to help.
I want to make friends.
I want to soak up the time with my kids and my husband.
I want to ENJOY the life I've worked so hard to build.
THAT is what was missing.
In hindsight, I should have known that the 6 year old who wrote to her Town to put up a "Children at Play" sign in her neighborhood would be here, writing to strangers on the internet about "how to's" and ways to make our lives better. I guess I'm making that little Kelly proud, too!
So, thanks for being here with me. I hope you keep hanging out with me as we laugh, learn, and grow together! I'm excited to share more of my story and hopefully help inspire you to do more of what fills you up!
