Parenting Hack: Puppy Pads to the Rescue

Whenever I'm asked for my favorite baby product or for advice on a baby shower gift, my go-to answer is always: Puppy Pads. Yes... you read that right... Puppy Pads. I invariably get a confused stare, which I secretly love, because it means I get to explain how genius this Mom-hack is. It's like my new party trick... gone are the days of wowing everyone with my "No Diggity" rap skills... sigh.

So why are puppy pads my #1 baby shower gift and baby "product" recommendation? Because they are cheap, practical, absorbent, and convenient... in other words, a perfect solution to changing pads.

Instead of using the cute, stylish and often bulky changing pads, I kept a stash of these puppy pads in every room of the house and in my diaper bag, so whenever we needed to change a diaper, I could lay one down and not worry about either kid having an accident mid-change.

I also learned really quickly that I almost never used the expensive changing table we bought for the nursery, as we mostly just changed diapers wherever was most comfortable and convenient... which ended up being places like the bed, the couch, the pack-n-play... all places that we did not want to ruin with a potty accident. The puppy pads were perfect for this. SUPER absorbent, so even if there was an accident, they soaked it all up without anything leaking through or running off, and we could just roll it up and toss it when we were done. No need to wipe down, clean, or place in the laundry. You're doing enough laundry with a baby... don't add to it if you don't have to!
